To take part in the study, you must be at least 18 years old and be proficient in English. You’ll also need to own a Garmin watch. No other special skills or background are required - just a willingness to engage with the tasks and share your Garmin data as part of the research.

Participation involves taking part in the study once. You’ll complete a short economic experiment online, which includes decision-making tasks and simple questionnaires. The entire study typically takes around 20 minutes. We’ll also ask for permission to access selected Garmin data, such as sleep, heart rate, and activity levels.

The study will take place between January and February 2026.

Participation in this research is entirely voluntary. You can withdraw at any time during the study period, and request that your data be deleted, and you will not face any negative consequences for choosing to do so.

Please note that the study materials and instructions are currently provided only in English. Participants should have sufficient English proficiency to follow all study procedures.

A summary of the study’s results will be posted on this website once our working paper is ready. When the research is published, we will also share a link to the full journal article here. All updates, including summaries and publications, will be made available on this website for participants and the public.
