About the Study

FitToWork explores how everyday health influences productivity. By combining data from Garmin health tracking devices with simple decision tasks, the project aims to understand how factors like sleep, activity, and heart rate relate to the choices people make. Our goal is to uncover connections between physical wellbeing and cognitive processes, contributing to a deeper understanding of human behaviour and performance.

We take data protection and ethical standards very seriously. All personal data is anonymised or pseudonymised, stored securely, and used strictly for academic research purposes in full compliance with GDPR. This study has received full ethical approval from the University of Exeter’s Research Ethics Committee, ensuring that all procedures meet rigorous scientific and ethical guidelines.

Our Story

We are a multidisciplinary team of researchers, including economists, psychologists, health scientists, and behavioral experts, united by a shared interest in how health influences everyday performance and decision-making. With backgrounds spanning experimental economics, wearable technology, public health, and workplace wellbeing, we bring a holistic approach to understanding human behavior. Our collaboration blends rigorous scientific methods with practical insights to create data-driven tools that support healthier, more productive lives.
